Case overview

Quadraticx, a technology company specializing in military and defense solutions, developed the Wireless Portable Target Training Solution (WPTTS) to enhance infantry and Tank training for both MILES and live ammunition scenarios. The project aimed to provide a versatile and highly adaptable training system to improve marksmanship skills and tactical proficiency.

The system is designed for use with both infantry and Tanks. The system leverages a highly stable long-range wireless communication system and provides a wireless control software to enable custom training scenarios and sensitivity adjustments for various ammunition types and calibers. It is versatile and can be used with both the Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) and live ammunition.

The primary needs identified from the customer’s perspective were:

  • Build a training solution that could be used by both infantry and Tank crews, in various training scenarios.
  • The solution needed to offer highly stable, long-range wireless communication for realistic and dynamic training exercises.
  • Customization was a priority, with the need for wireless control software to create tailored training scenarios and adjust sensitivity for different ammunition types and calibers.
  • The system had to be compatible with both the Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) for laser-based training and live ammunition for real-life practice.

Communicates wirelessly with target units.
Provides an advantage by eliminating the need for wired connectivity.

Software

Customized software for collecting shooting and targeting data.
Performs analysis, including accuracy and hit rate
Provides comprehensive insights into training performance.

Mobile Target Unit

Allows movement along a specially designed track.
Programmable for simulating horizontal target movement.
Battery-powered for flexibility and portability.
