Mobile Military Tactical Training Center

Home > Use Cases > Mobile Military Tactical Training Center

Case overview

Quadraticx was awarded a strategic project to build a training and warfare live system to provide practical experience to military forces and develop tactical and strategical war plans.

The system replicates realistic war scenarios using actual equipment, Tanks and soldiers. This type of Training, often referred to as “live simulation” or “force-on-force simulation,” aims to provide realistic training experiences for military personnel.

Challenges

Mobile solution

Custom SW & HW

Data Communication for near real time updates

Live video transmission

Multi-audio network interfacing

Mobile Military Tactical Training Center
Mobile Traning System

Customer Needs

The primary needs identified from the customer’s perspective were:

  • Build a robust and flexible system that is easy to transport and deploy in different terrains.
  • Integrate with existing 3rd party laser system used to simulate gunfire.
  • Build Situational awareness capabilities Integrating GPS to display actual locations of personnel and equipment.
  • Build a Command Center to visualize, audit and control the warfare scenario.
  • Build SW to track the live warfare scenario and provide analysis and metrics to measure and enhance the force performance.

Solution Elements

Quadraticx addressed these challenges and customer needs through the following key elements:

Player Unit

Custom embedded software (SW) and hardware (HW) for interfacing.
Interfaces with GPS, MILES (Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System), and communication modules.
Enables real-time tracking of players and their actions during training exercises.
Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System

Custom Software

Situational Awareness:
The system offers a real-time comprehension of the training scenario by seamlessly integrating data from player units, Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES), and communication software. This cohesive integration provides a holistic and detailed perspective of the battlefield, facilitating effective decision-making.
Training Management Software:
Through its capabilities, it facilitates scenario customization, mission planning, and overall training coordination. The system' offers users the tools they need to tailor scenarios, plan missions, and coordinate training efforts effectively.
Communication Software:
The system efficiently processes data originating from player units and Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES). It further enhances situational awareness by transmitting pertinent data to the situational awareness software, facilitating real-time updates. Additionally, the platform plays a pivotal role in fostering seamless communication between the command center and training units.
Reporting Module:
Generates detailed reports encompassing performance metrics, outcomes, and areas earmarked for improvement. The platform enables users to assess performance, understand outcomes, and identify specific areas that require enhancement.

Live Video Transmission

Manages live video feeds from the training ground to the command center.
Enables real-time visualization of the training scenario.

Multi-Audio Network Interfacing

Allows simultaneous communication on multiple channels
Facilitates communication between the command center and training units.
Enables communication among operators within the command center.

Command Center

Mobile 20 ft shelter designed for easy transportation and deployment.
Equipped with devices, connections, networking, monitors, servers, and electricity.
Integrated with all system components for a fully-equipped mobile command center.
Capable of deployment in any environment without limitations.

The Results

The system was successfully delivered and implemented providing the following benefits:

  1. Realistic Training: The training Center allows military personnel to experience realistic combat scenarios, enhancing their tactical skills, decision-making abilities, and teamwork in a controlled training environment. It provides a safe and effective means of training without the risks associated with actual combat.
  2. Cost and Resource Efficiency: By utilizing a mobile training system, military forces can reduce the costs associated with live ammunition, equipment wear and tear, and travel expenses.
  3. Objective Performance Evaluation: The Training Center provides objective data on trainee performance, allowing instructors to assess individual and team effectiveness. This data-driven approach enables targeted feedback and facilitates continuous improvement in training outcomes.
  4. Adaptability and Scenario Customization: The simulation system can be customized to meet specific training requirements and adapt to changing operational needs.
  5. Enhanced Situational Awareness: The GPS tracking system enables a comprehensive view of the training exercise, allowing commanders to track and monitor the movements, positions, and interactions of personnel and equipment.
  6. Realistic Command and Control: The command center provides a centralized platform for commanders and trainers to observe and manage the simulated operation.
  7. Geographically Accurate Training: By integrating GPS technology, the simulation system can replicate specific geographical locations or areas of interest. This allows military personnel to train in environments that closely resemble the actual operational areas, enhancing their familiarity with the terrain, landmarks, and potential challenges they may encounter.
